I am Team Leader of Make Others Better Australia. Born, raised & educated in Oakland, California now living in Australia. Known as Raiderette Nanci since 1960 My father called me "My Little Raiderette". My dad took my sister and I to every Oakland Raider Game from 1960-1979 and in 1980 he gave me his season tickets. Griz was the first to call me OG Raiderette Nanci.
During winters in Melbourne, I'd gather, from our closet, any hats, gloves, sweaters, sweats, coats, blankets, etc., that we were no longer use, take the train to CBD and distribute to the unhoused citizens.
When the pandemic hit, we could not travel farther than a 5 kilometer radius from our home. At the same time Griz started the first Saturday of the month drop a spot. I was able to get volunteers to collect any items from my home until perimeters were lifted. During that time I connected with PETStock, a pet store company that collects food/money to feed the pets of unhoused citizens and I donate to them every month, in addition I now drop clothing items at the Brotherhood of St Lawerence Op Shop, who help unhoused citizens.
"You can take the girl outta Oakland, but you can’t take Oakland outta the girl." -Nanci Taylor (Raiderette Nanci)
